Carving on a deadline
This weekend, my parents came to visit. Sunday night, we went to dinner at Sherri's, while Bryan stayed at home to "finish up a paper for school." I came home to mysterious darkness to find this:Now, THIS is how much he loves me: our farm-picked pumpkin molded in the 80 degree weather we had mid-last week, so he had to go buy a new pumpkin. It was Sunday before Halloween, so all of the THREE stores he went to were out of pumpkin carving knives. With only about 3 hours to accomplish everything before I came home, he carved this with a kitchen knife! Have you ever carved a pumpkin with a kitchen knife? It is very difficult. Hence his oh-so-cute, (but totally unnecessary) explaination of "I really wanted it to say 'Will you marry me,' but I couldn't do that with a kitchen knife, so I hope this is creative enough." Yes, baby, it's creative enough.Of course I said Yes!
I'm now the luckiest girl in the world, and I'm wearing this, which has so much significance to me it's a bit overwhelming, in the best way possible.

Oh My Goodness! This is the happiest, most wonderful, darlingest post I've read for a long time. It is almost impossible to carve a clumsy jack-o-lantern with a kitchen knife, much less a marriage proposal!?! That is just perfect, Tia. I am so excited for you.
Also, I came here to say that I hope you didn't feel attacked on Lori's blog the other day -- I know those kinds of discussions can get emotional, but I am so glad you shared your opinions. I really admire the way you think things through. I can tell from your blog and your comments on mine that you are a dear and caring person--I hope we get to meet in person some day.
Congratulations, again!
congratulations Tia!! That is fabulous! love you ;)
Yes! Congratulations!!
Congratulations!! We are so happy for you guys and the ring is fabulous. All around good job, Bryan. Enjoy yourselves right now, it is a special time.
I will keep my fingers crossed for your house to sell quickly and on favorable terms.
By the way, I totally miss Sushiland! New York only has one conveyor belt sushi place and I wasn't all that impressed. I had to console myself with a big piece of chocolate cake on the way home.
Let me know if you would like to borrow a slightly used wedding dress!
Again, good job Bryan!
Tana and Corwyn
P.S. We got engaged on October 28th too, last year.
